Uhuru Gardens

media type="custom" key="25335192" align="left" width="90" height="90"This is Kenya’s largest memorial park located along Langata road, 15 minutes’ drive from the city center. Uhuru is a swahili word meaning freedom.The gardens were officially declared a National Monument in 1966 because of their historical importance. This is where the first Kenyan flag was first raised and thus marking the very first year of independence on the 12th December 1963.Within the garden are two monuments commemorating Kenya's independence.


Bomas of Kenya Bomas of Kenya is a tourist village in Langata, Nairobi. Bomas displays traditional villages belonging to the several Kenyan tribes. Learn the cultural differences between Kenya’s major ethnic groups, explore typical Kenyan homesteads, and enjoy traditional performances done by locals.


Nairobi National Park

The major wildlife attractions are the Black rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, buffaloes, Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elands and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded. Other attractions include the Ivory burning site Monument, Nairobi Safari Walk, the Orphanage and the walking trails at hippo pools.


media type="custom" key="25334326" align="left"Giraffe Centre The Giraffe Centre is located at Langata, approximately 5 kilometres from the centre of Nairobi. Visitors to the Giraffe Centre are allowed to pet, feed, and even kiss a giraffe.It is an amazing place to visit if you love giraffes.


Hell's Gate National Park

The Hell’s Gate National Park, situated 110km from Nairobi. It is one of the few game parks in Kenya where you can walk, run or cycle alongside Giraffe, Zebra, Gazelles and other wildlife. Hell's Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley.

Karen Blixen Museum

media type="custom" key="25334350" align="right"The Karen Blixen Museum, located 10 km outside of Nairobi, Kenya, "at the foot of the Ngong Hills", is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen, famous for her book Out of Africa . For anyone with an interest in Karen Blixen's book Out of Africa or the subsequent film, this museum is a must see. The author lived on a coffee estate in a house known as Bogani from 1914 until 1931. The house is now a National Museum, and is maintained for visitors in its original condition. Those who have read the book, or seen the film (which was filmed on location here) will recognize the house with its sprawling tropical garden and views of the nearby Ngong Hills.


Nairobi Arboretum

The Nairobi Arboretum is a protected 30 hectare forest reserve holding over 350 species of indigenous and exotic plants, most of which are labeled. It’s also home to over 100 species of birds, and a significant population of Sykes and Vervet monkeys. The park is a popular recreational park for city residents, who come looking for tranquility, to take long walks, hold picnics, team-building activities and games. Lovebirds enjoy spending romantic moments in the parks secluded spots.
